BORN TO FLY | The moment before

Courage.

Of all human traits, it takes up the pole position of most desired. Tales of brave hearts past and present daring to soar above the seemingly insurmountable, against the odds of resistance, have shown us what it looks like. That it can be done. And we, in return, show our respect by applause, likes, hearts.

But what makes the courageous different? Were they born this way?
I have not met such a human being: bare of any fears, insecurities, doubts.

What I have met however, is facilitators.

People who speak words of en(courage)ment, exactly when the naysayer voice - sometimes from the outside world, frequently from the inside - is about to take over. Who appear when we want to shy away, hesitate to do what we aspire to, that we were born to do.

Celebration comes easily, yet encouragement might be the key micronutrient needed for us to grow our wings. And do the macro-level stuff.

More than being a cheerleader for the winning team, I feel it’s worthwhile - in that it is valuable to our current planetary constellation - to be a facilitator, to remind each other of this:

You have wings to fly with.

Who are you reminding of their wings today?
